Band camp starts tomorrow, July 24, for all band members! Attendance is required for the duration of camp to be a part of our ensembles. We will be working very hard for two weeks. We cannot change what we have learned for someone who didn't attend camp!
Make sure to bring monies for the purchase of gloves, reeds, lyres, folios, extra pages, marching band DRILL MASTER shoes, etc.
It will be hot! Bring sunblock! We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!!!
Check the Forms page for all info and (most) FORMS!
Today, a tentative marching band schedule was published for next year (2017-2018). Please download the file below. There will be updates to a few dates that have not been finalized at this point. However, for those planning vacations, this should suffice for all of the football games and competitions.
The spring concert has been set for May 9th at 7pm in the CCHS auditorium . We will be playing a very intense concert including song choices from:
and many more.
Some students have challenged themselves on solos, duets, quartets, quintets and other chamber ensembles.
We finished the season with, by far, our strongest run! We ended up with first place trophies in every caption we could, except overall Grand Champion. We are already looking forward for our parades and holiday concerts! We plan on heading to Gatlinburg, TN during the first weekend of December. Hopefully, you all will come support us!
The website has been updated to add many pictures of this year and last year's marching band programs. To find this year's competition videos (as more will be added over the next few weeks), please go to this link. You will find videos from Sullivan Central's competition as well as Siegel's. More will be added as they are imported!
To find the videos from 2015 or 2014, click here Alumni or search under the Alumni tab. Many of the GoPro footage has been added. Those who wish for their video to not be shown, please let the director/staff know ASAP.
Anyone with pictures to share, that you would like on the website, please upload them to a Dropbox account and share it with me.
Thank you all for an amazing marching season!
This weekend, October 15th, we will be traveling to Sullivan Central High School for a band competition. This will be the last competition of the year for the Cougar Band. We really appreciate all of the support you have given us this year! If you would like to come cheer us on this weekend, please be there by 4:00pm. We perform at 4:40pm.
On May 12, we will be hosting our Spring concert. We will be performing in the auditorium at CCHS. We have decided to do a mixture of popular literature (movies, cartoons, rock) and Classical pieces they need to know before college. Selections this year include:
Music from the Lion King
Beauty and the Beast
Chamber ensemble works for percussion, quartets and more!
Earth Song (with special guests)
AND, MANY MORE!
We will be performing new pieces from living composers such as Eric Whitacre, Frank Ticheli and John Mackey.
We are in the preliminary stages of getting ready for our next marching season. As of now, we have come up with a tentative schedule for next year. Due to the nature of marching band programs, we must have full attendance on the first day of band camp. Students who do not show up to the first day, or miss any days after, will be placed in the pit crew or as a stage hand. Those who do not wish to do this must be at EVERY rehearsal. Remember, you are responsible for yourself!
Below is a TENTATIVE itinerary for the trip this weekend! Enjoy!
