The Marching Band at Campbell County High School is made up of students from 9th grade through 12th grade. Also, we do invite 8th grade students who are over-achievers in their respective instrument and band as a whole.
The Cougar Band typically ranges in size from 60-80 members. It includes drum majors, color guard, percussion, front ensemble, brass and woodwinds. From this, we learn one show per year with many public performances, football halftimes, parades, and competition shows where we travel, in Tennessee, as far as Middle Tennessee, Johnson City, Chattanooga, and even out of state on occasion to upper Georgia or Southern Kentucky.
The Cougar Band has a rich history of winning when they are able, ranging from their multiple walls covered in two-rows of trophies from competitions, awarded plaques from competitive parades and other awards in many forms!
Students must agree to certain requirements to be in marching band:
Attend 2 weeks of band camp before school starts.
Make an honest effort to attend every band function, even those not on the calendar/syllabus.
Keep their instrument and uniform clean and in working order for every performance.
Come in each and every day with a team mindset, ready to learn!
